January 2008 - Update

If your here, you're probably wondering why I am not.

I thought that this was going to be an easy project that we would see many veterans and their families flock to in support. I found that of about 10 veterans that I spoke with, many were unable to grasp the concept of this site, or unwilling to be video interviewed.

It would simply take more time and money than I have at my disposal to travel the country and collect these valuable stories. I also learned that editing a 15 minute video, may end up taking about the same time in hours.

I want to see this site at least salvage some of the goodwill and concepts originally designed for it, so I am thinking of simply adding already available videos, from sources such as YouTube, Google Video, and archives that would agree to share with me.

It will mean much less targetted, but hopefully still relevant content. All in the name of remembering and glorifying Canadian War Veterans.

Len Beck - Volume 2 - "Across Northwest Europe"

Here is the second volume of our interview with Sergeant Len Beck of the 8th Canadian Reconnaissance Regiment (8th Recce). Mr. Beck is a fantastic storyteller and in this video, he tells some very interesting stories about the time spent in Normandy, Belgium, Holland and Germany. I am amazed at his ability to recollect the details of these stories. I will be posting one more video, where he answers our 10 questions.

Len Beck - Volume 1 - "In Training"

After much hard work, we finally edited our first video. We had a hard time editing this video, as there were so many great stories, and will post it in at least two parts. This first video deals with the time that the 8th Recce Regiment spent in England, training for the pending battle in NW Europe. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did interviewing Mr. Beck. He is truly an amazing character.

Our First Interview - Teaser

Lauren and I had the pleasure of meeting with and interviewing Mr. Leonhardt Beck, a troop Seargent with the 8th Canadian Recconassaince Regiment. We will be editing this video, and placing it as our first video interview.

We had some fun tonight getting this teaser built, mostly to play with the editing software, and giving you a little teaser of what is to come. Although a bit rough, remember that this entire video, and any subsequent ones, will be edited by Lauren, my 13 year-old daughter
